You want to interpret it that way, that's your problem. [He's resentful that you have people you can trust, not that you're making progress. Really, he doesn't care about graduating at all, he just wishes he was dead for real.]

Ah. I don't know your circumstances but I know what it's like to not be able to trust someone or have misplaced trust. The one person I trusted back home tried to kill me.

Maybe. I've only been a few months alive so it's easier for me to see things from a rational standpoint rather than emotional. I'm still experiencing new emotions and different emotional levels.
